COUNCIL GOALS AND OBJECTIVES FOR FY 99
The Rehabilitation Council held its annual retreat in June,1998 at the Hiram G. Andrews Center. In August, 1998 it approved the following Goals, Objective, and Committee assignments for FY 99:
| GOAL 1: | Expand The Rehabilitation Council's Influence Upon The Governor's Disability Agenda Through Collaborative Efforts With All Stakeholders. (Disability Agenda Committee) |
| OBJECTIVES: |
- Target organized consumer groups and individual consumers in order to build collaborative relationships on disability issues.
- Develop and promote the Council's position on these issues with the Governor's Policy Team.

| GOAL 2: | Educate And Advocate With State And Federal Legislators On Disability Issues, Policies, And Legislation. (Legislative Committee) |
| OBJECTIVES: |
- Identify key persons involved with specific disability related legislation.
- Build relationships with targeted elected officials.
- Develop and communicate Council positions on targeted disability related legislation.

| GOAL 3: |
Build A Collaborative Relationship With OVR To Provide Input Into Its Programs, Planning, and Policy Development (Satisfaction And Planning Committee) |
| OBJECTIVES: |
- Conduct a customer satisfaction survey.
- Review and make recommendations on OVR's State Plan.
- Actively participate with OVR' on its most critical planning and policy work groups.

| GOAL 4: | Build Collaborative Relationships With Consumers, Disability Advocacy Groups and Other Related Parties In Order To Fulfill The Council's Mission (All) |
| OBJECTIVES: |
- Build a database of consumers, advocacy groups and related parties.
- Use the database to build collaborative relationships in promotion of the Council's Mission.
