PENNSYLVANIA REHABILITATION ADVISORY COUNCIL (RAC)
1997-98 GOALS & OBJECTIVES

GOAL 1:

Expand the RAC's interactions and influence upon the Governor's Disability Agenda through collaborative efforts with all stakeholders

OBJECTIVES

*Report to the Governor and or the various Secretaries, the RAC's input into the Governor's Agenda

*Comment on Disability Agenda action plans through face-to-face meetings with each individual on the policy team

*Gather, review and evaluate the action plans developed by the Governor's Disability Policy Team

GOAL 2:

To educate, advocate with, and influence state and federal legislators on disability issues, policies, and legislation

OBJECTIVES

*Identify key legislators and others at the State level and build relationships similar to what has been done at the Federal level

*Build upon and expand the relationships which resulted in this year's success with Federal legislators as Reauthorization continues

*Continue to keep RAC members informed about State and Federal initiatives, actions and their potential impact

GOAL 3:

To actively participate in OVR Strategic Planning and Policy work groups

OBJECTIVES

*Begin active involvement with OVR's planning and policy groups by April, 1999 (To coincide with OVR's 3 year planning cycle)

*Review and evaluate OVR's Fiscal Year 1997 plans and policies by January 1998

*Analyze objective #2 results and share with RAC and OVR by February 1998

*Complete Customer Satisfaction Survey by September 1998

GOAL 4:

To build collaborative relationships with disability advocacy and advisory groups

OBJECTIVES

*Gather information (from diverse sources) to form policy recommendations

*Inform them of the RAC's mission
