Dear Council Members and friends of the disability community:
It has been a pleasure to serve as Chairperson of the Pennsylvania Rehabilitation Council during this year. The Council has seen many accomplishments. Most notably, the Council has increased its visibility in the disability community, and emphasized its role in ensuring customer satisfaction with OVR services by hosting two public forums. In addition, the Council's legislative committee has worked to build strong relationships with our federal legislators. During the upcoming year the committee has set a goal to build these important relationships on the state level as well.
In FY 2005 the Council will experience change. This change comes as many long time members move on to new endeavors, and we welcome others. Change is positive because it allows for an exchange of new ideas, and often creates exciting opportunities. It is with confidence that I welcome our new Chairperson, Thomas Walsh to his position and the challenges that lie ahead. I look forward to continuing an active role on the Council and in the disability community as a whole.
