PaRC 2005 Goals
- Monitor activity on the Workforce Investment Act and other disability related legislation on the state and federal level. The PaRC will continue to advocate as needed on behalf of job seekers and other persons with disabilities.
- In partnership with OVR monitor the accessibility of services under the Workforce Investment Act and take action to correct any areas of concern to ensure accessibility to all Pennsylvanians at CareerLink sites.
- Improve communication with OVR, the OVR Board, the Workforce Investment Board, the Consumer Advisory Committees, the stakeholder groups, and other state advisory bodies to collaborate on issues related to vocational rehabilitation. Define the function and history of the various committees and their relationship to one another to help prioritize vocational rehabilitation goals in Pennsylvania.
- Work in partnership with OVR and the Stakeholder Workgroup to develop a joint customer satisfaction survey, analyze the survey data, and ensure that actions are taken to address customer comments, recommendations, and concerns resulting from the survey. Also, the PaRC Customer Satisfaction committee will continue their public forums, this year conducting two public forums across Pennsylvania to hear individual experiences with OVR and other service providers.
- Review fiscal and statistical reports from OVR relative to customer service delivery and placements to ensure maximum benefit for the vocational rehabilitation consumer in Pennsylvania.
- Publicize make recommendations and provide input in the development of OVR's goals and priorities in the state plan attachment.
- Develop and distribute the PaRC Annual Report to the Governor, Rehabilitation Services Administration (RSA) and other interested parties.
- Increase public awareness in Pennsylvania about OVR services and the Council's mission and responsibilities through outreach activities such as presentations and the PaRC website.
