In partnership with the Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, the Pennsylvania Rehabilitation Council (PaRC) recognizes the importance of transition to a young adult with disabilities. To that end, the Council is seeking a new member who will represent this group. The potential Council member should be a recipient of vocational rehabilitation services and in the process of transitioning from secondary or higher education to employment.
This new member will provide the Council with valuable insights into specific issues related to education and employment facing young adults in transition. As appointments range from 1 to 3 years, we recommend that the candidate be 18 or 19 years of age and have full voting rights of and obligations to the council.
All PaRC members are required to attend four meetings per year, held in Harrisburg. Meetings are generally from 9:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Members are also expected to serve on at least one committee, with most meetings held by conference call. This is an average time commitment of 1.5 hours per month. Meeting attendance requires additional time.
If you are interested in serving on the Pennsylvania Rehabilitation Council as a young adult, please complete the appointment form and return it with a current resume or biography to:
