There were no additions to the agenda.
Ms. Emily Scott made the motion to approve the agenda and past minutes. Mr. Larry Kauffman seconded the motion. All were in favor.
Members discussed new dates for the visits to the federal legislators. Most members on the call agreed that June 1st or 2nd would work for them. Staff will email all members of the Legislative Committee to see which date will work best for them. Staff also requested an email reply to keep in the file. The same packets and request for appointment letters will be used that were created for the April visits, with the correction of any dates needed. Mr. Lee Lippi and Mr. Tom Washic will work together to develop a paper on key points. The goal is to keep the integrity of vocational rehabilitation by keeping single source funding and not lumping it in with the workforce system. Staff will mail their paper to the rest of the committee when done. As before, members are responsible to schedule their own transportation and hotel reservations.
The next Legislative Committee conference call will be on May 16th at 10:00 a.m. to discuss the Federal visits.
