There were no additions to the agenda.
Mr. Larry Kaufman made the motion to approve the agenda and past minutes. Mr. Lee Lippi seconded the motion. All were in favor.
Staff informed members that the federal requests for appointments were sent out on May 3rd but as of this date, no responses were received. Members decided to visit their federal legislators in their local offices since they will be home the week of June 6th through the 10th. Anyone wishing to visit their legislator may contact the staff to get their phone number and address to call and schedule an appointment. Staff will bring the packets that were made up for the visits to the Full Council meeting on May 18th to hand out to anyone that needs them.
Mr. Tom Washic, OVR, stated that the Labor and Industry policy office said there is no truth to the rumor that OVR will be folding into Workforce Investment. Mr. Joe Kraher informed everyone on the call that the November 9th meeting will also coincide with state elections and the state legislators would not be available for visits from members at that time. Future dates for the November meeting may have to be moved to accommodate the member's state visits. Mr. Chuck Giambrone mentioned that he will invite Ms. Barbara Orstein, Director of the PACIL, to join the next legislative conference call for an update on disability placards.
The next Legislative Committee conference call will be on June 1st at 10:00 a.m.
The call adjourned at approximately 10:35 a.m.
