Committee Members
Consists of four to six Full Council members who elect a Chairperson annually.
Purpose
To collaborate with the Department of Labor and Industry (PA Workforce Development Bureau, OVR) and the Office of Equal Opportunity to offer ongoing education, support and guidance to ensure that people with disabilities have equal access to programs and services, and have positive service experiences.
Principal Tasks
- Confirm that CareerLink staff is receiving proper training to work with persons with disabilities. (Review training materials and make recommendations as needed).
- Obtain statistics about the number of individuals using the CareerLink and OVR systems and the number of individuals having positive and negative experience (percentages). (Written requests for information).
- Create a positive working relationship with OVR, the Department of Labor and Industry and the Equal Opportunity Commission to get information and improve communication. (Share information on calls and at meetings).
